Can I just say that I love how this cake turned out! I love fresh flowers on cakes. I was a little worried about the orchids making it through the wedding reception, but they still looked beautiful. This cake was for a Hawaiian themed wedding. It was very laid back, but elegant. I love the bright colors of the flowers. I had many people comment to me that the bamboo looked real. I made the bamboo out of ivory colored fondant and then dusted them to give shading and depth. It actually went pretty fast once I got going.
