Timeless Barbie

My daughter Annalyse has had another birthday, and she wanted to have a Barbie cake. Since I had already done an actual Barbie with a cake dress, I thought I would do something different. Of course the cake has to be pink then it has a classic Barbie silhouette with a few embellishments. We both loved how it turned out.

Gerbera Dasies

I love the colors of Autumn and fresh flowers. This cake was for my Mother-in-Law's birthday last year and I though I would share it in honor of the season. It is a ganache covered cake topped with beautiful bright fall gerbera daisies.

Disney's Brave Cake

My niece Averi had a Brave themed birthday, so I made a cake for her. The cake is draped in fondant to look like Merida's dress in the movie and then has cake ball arrows placed all over for fun.

Vegas Style Birthday

The famous "Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas" sign can be made into a cake 100 different ways. This play on the sign can be fun for a birthday. The cake beneath the sign is made to look like stacked poker chips. Easy and fun. Since we are leaving Las Vegas it is also a nice tribute.

Square Wedding

I think that simple wedding cakes always look great. This one has a pearl border that outlines the edges of the squares and is then adorned with fresh yellow roses and baby's breath.

CD Cover

You could mimic any CD cover you wanted, I did a No Doubt CD. The square cake is covered in blue fondant and then quilted. I just eyeballed the design on top and pipped it on. It turned out pretty close to the real CD cover too.

Christian Louboutin Shoe Box

Who doesn't want expensive shoes from Paris? Well at least this way it looks like you are getting them. Simple and elegant this cake was a snap to make. I built a normal sheet cake and then just used one layer of cake on a different board for the lid. I made the tissue paper out of gum paste.

Ace of Spades Champagne

Time to celebrate? Then you might need some champagne, this one just happens to be in the form of a cake, it tastes better that way anyway. This is an Ace of Spades Champagne bottle in a box. The bottle is shaped out of cake with 2 layers of cake as the base, then it had a chocolate box surrounding it.

Happy Easter

Carrot cake shaped like a carrot anyone? This cake was done without any fondant for those of you that don't like it, and only two colors of icing to make. It was really easy to shape the carrot using sheet cakes and then put it all together with cream cheese icing. Yummy carrot cake, happy Easter.

Cat in the Hat Cakes

These cakes were fun and really I could have done just about anything on them. They were for dance recital parties held on two different nights (hence the two cakes). The theme for the dance recital was Dr. Seuss / Cat in the Hat. I mad them a little girly with the colors and then had fun making all different kinds of stripes. And of course I had to make the patented Cat in the Hat tie and hat to go with them.

Cupcakes Anyone?

For my sons 2nd birthday I decided to make a big cupcake. I have done a few different versions of this in the past, you can make the "wrapper" have anything on it; polka dots, strips, flowers, etc., or just a solid color. I have made the icing different colors, with or without sprinkles and with a cherry or flower on top. Really sky is the limit with cupcake cakes, so have fun.

Cheetah Print

Animal print cakes are always really fun to make. Once all the colors are made and rolled out it goes really fast. It is nice to have all different sizes and that all the spots all look different. This cake is topsy turvy to add extra fun and has a sparkly bow too.
