Santa Cake

I wanted to make something simple and easy, and I definitely did. This couldn't have been any easier to make, and I think it turned out pretty cute. I just iced the cake in red buttercream, used an easy icer to pipe the black belt and then did the buttons and buckle. I piped "snow" on the side and added sparkle to it.  There you go a Santa belt cake. Easy and cute!

Fondant Ombre Rose Cake

This cake was made for my wonderful Mom's birthday. I wanted to do something a little more elegant, but still fun. I love doing ruffle cakes and thought I would try something new. There are 3 different purples starting with the darkest going lighter until there is only the white on top. I think it turned out very pretty, but if I did it again, I think I would "ombre" the cake even more with varying the colors.

Halloween Sugar Cookies

Halloween is a fun time to try out new things. I made a bunch of sugar cookies and tried out some different designs. These are all made out of buttercream.
I love the monster cookies, they are made with a grass tip. The big eyes are plastic rings, a fun surprise for the little kid eating the cookie.

When you think of Halloween of course you think of pumpkins. I did some with Jack-O-Lantern faces and left others plain.
Spiders are creepy so they go along with Halloween as well. I swirled the black around the cookie over the white, then pulled a knife through it to make the webbing. The spider is made with a grass tip.
There are limitless things you could make and fun to decorate.

Simple Buttercream Wedding Cake

This is a simple buttercream wedding cake. It has 3 different sizes of dots on the side going from smallest to biggest in an alternating pattern. They wanted a top and bottom border made of dots too. This could be easily dressed up with flowers to match the wedding colors.

Flower Cupcakes

These cupcakes are so fun to make. After you make all the different colored frosting and pipping bags it goes fairly quickly. There are so many flowers to choose from and I definitely am not an expert at making all of them, but I like to try. This time I made daises, roses, sunflowers, and mums. I was way out of practice when I made these but, hopefully I will be able to make some more.

Cute as a Button

My adorable little baby just turned one. I did a "cute as a button" cake for her. I had a mold for the buttons and made them out of fondant. I think it turned out pretty cute haha.

Swirl Rose Cupcake

Here is something for people out there that doesn't like fondant. This frosting is actually whipped cream. These are simple swirl roses. It is a little 5 inch round cake that looks like a bouquet of flowers or a really big cupcake. I made an accompanying cake to feed the rest of the guests while a little one year old got to dig into the big cupcake.

Zebra Print is Always Fun

This was all butter cream. I just pipped the black zebra stripes all over the cake. It was really easy to do and makes a fun cake. There is no rhyme or reason to it, you can't really mess it up, just have fun with it.

This is a fondant version of a zebra cake. Personally I like the fondant better, it has a cleaner look.

John Deere Cake

This cute little cake was for my nephew Tren. He loves tractors, farms, cars, planes -boy stuff-. So I thought he would love this John Deere cake. It was super fast to make. I used a grass tip to pipe the hay and colored fondant to look like wood to "hold" the hay together, then added cake crumbs as dirt. Tren ended up loving it and that is what counts!

A STARS WARS BABYSHOWER

My sister is decorating her little baby boys nursery with a Star Wars theme and wanted to do a Star Wars theme for the baby shower as well. It was fun and different. The cake was really simple. I marbled the fondant with black, grey, and blue and then covered the cake. I hand cut the letters to look like they were from the movie. I made a "Death Star" out of cake and then pipped the different lines all over it. I think it turned out pretty good, and my sister like it!

Curious Rome

My little Rome is 4 now! He loves Curious George and when I asked him what theme he wanted for his birthday that is what he choose. All the decorations are made from fondant. To make the streamers I just wrapped the fondant around my tools (you could use something like a pencil). I just hand cut out everything else. Yes, the yellow hat was all fondant and no, I didn't let anyone eat it (even though I was asked many times by many kids)
I love my little man! Happy Birthday Rome!!

Gender Reveal Cake

My sister is pregnant and wanted a fun way to tell everyone what the gender of her baby is, so I made a cake! I did a ruffle tutu on the bottom and a mustache with a bow tie on the second tier. It turned out pretty cute. I baked the cake to reveal the gender - pink for a girl and blue for a boy- so when they cut into it they found out the gender.
P.S.
It was a boy! They are so excited, congrats Kim and Michael!
